Terbium is never found in nature as a free element, but it is contained in many minerals, including cerite,gadolinite,monazite,xenotime,and euxenite.

1. Terbium Metal is the important additive for NdFeB permanent magnets to raise the Curie temperature and improve temperature coefficiency.
2. Another most promising use of distilled Terbium Metal, code 6563D, is in the magnetostrictive alloy TEFENOL-D.
